The SAA is saddened to advise of the sudden passing of long serving SAA Member Peter (Bogey) Knights in Canberra on Thursday the 7th of August.
Peter was born in the United Kingdom, joining the Royal Navy as an Weapons Electrical Branch sailor.
He joined the Submarine Service in the early 1970s serving on the Royal Navys Polaris Ballistic Missile Submarines,
HMS Revenge (1972) and HMS Resolution (1973-77).
In the late 1970s he transferred to the RAN as a CPOETSSM.
He served on HMAS Ovens from 1978 to 1981, as the submarine’s CSAW,
before posting to Navy Office in Canberra,
where he settled after discharging from the RAN.
Peter was a long term and highly regarded member of the SAA – ACT Branch and at the time of his passing he was the SAA ACT’s Treasurer.

The SAA extends it sincere condolences to Peter’s wife Tina, daughter Mhairi and his extended family and friends. He will be dearly missed.

The funeral of my husband and best friend will be on Wednesday 20 August at 1.30 pm at Norwood Crematorium in Mitchell.
Followed by a wake at Erindale Vikings club from 3pm to 5pm, where light refreshments will be available.
As this is a celebration of the life of Peter we ask that no black shall be worn. Servicemen/woman are free to wear their medals and jackets.
